Welcome to EngMovieReviews. These terms keep things clear and fair for everyone. By using this website, you agree to them. They are written in plain English — the same way we teach.
1. What this site is
EngMovieReviews helps you learn English through movie reviews, quizzes, vocabulary packs, and grammar lessons. Everything here is for general learning purposes. We work hard to keep lessons accurate, but we can’t guarantee the site is free of mistakes, and it isn’t a substitute for formal instruction or certified exam preparation.
2. Our content belongs to us
The reviews, scripts, quizzes, vocabulary packs, exercises, and Teacher Teddy himself (including all artwork and characters) are the property of EngMovieReviews. You’re welcome to use everything here for your own learning, and teachers may use materials in their own classrooms with a link back to us. Please don’t copy, republish, or sell our content elsewhere without written permission.
The films we review belong to their respective studios and rights holders. Our reviews are original commentary for education — we don’t host or distribute any films.
3. Comments and community
We love hearing from learners. When you comment, keep it kind and on topic — this is a classroom, not a battleground. We may edit or remove comments that are spam, offensive, or off-topic, at our discretion. You are responsible for what you post, and by posting you give us permission to display it on the site.
4. Your progress data
Quiz scores, streaks, badges, and flashcard progress are stored in your own browser, on your device. We can’t see or recover them — if you clear your browser data or switch devices, they reset. For how we handle personal data (like your email if you subscribe), see our Privacy Policy.
5. Paid downloads (courses and books)
Most of the site is free. Our courses and books are paid PDF downloads, sold through Payhip, which handles payment and delivery — so a purchase is also subject to Payhip’s terms. Prices are in pounds sterling, and your download link is sent to you by email as soon as payment completes.
Each purchase is licensed to one learner for personal use, or to one teacher for their own lesson planning. Please don’t share, resell, or upload the files. Classroom and school licences are available on request via the Get in Touch page.
Refunds: if a download isn’t for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we’ll give you a full refund — no questions asked.
Film titles in our materials are mentioned for commentary and educational purposes. EngMovieReviews is independent and isn’t affiliated with any film studio, nor with the IELTS partners (the British Council, IDP, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment). Band labels in the IELTS course are teaching estimates to guide your practice, not official scores.
6. Links to other places
We link to YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and occasionally other websites. Those platforms have their own terms and we aren’t responsible for their content.
7. No guarantees, limited liability
The site is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it available and accurate, but we aren’t liable for any losses arising from using (or being unable to use) the site, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — the date at the top always shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site.
